THE FMHA “Museum Happenings” is published monthly to keep you up-to-date on Happenings at the Fort Miles Museum.  This blog focuses on JULY AND AUGUST, and, as noted, the blog will be updated monthly (or more frequently, as needed) thereafter.  The blog will also include information about other scheduled events at Cape Henlopen State Park.

With the busy SUMMER SEASON in full swing, FMHA is pleased to announce the Fort Miles

Museum will be open for FMHA docent conducted tours each Sunday in July and August.  Tours will be offered at 11AM, Noon and 1PM.  The Museum will open at 11AM in time for the first tour and will close at 3PM.  Tour admission is $5 per person, with children under 7 free.  A family rate of $15 is also available.  Delaware State Park entrance fees do apply in order to enter Cape Henlopen State Park.  Throughout each week, Battery 519 tours are also available through Delaware Sate Parks (“DSP”).  These tours are conducted by knowledgable DSP interpretative guides and are offered at 11AM and 2PM Tuesday – Saturday.

Also new for the summer season will be the introduction of the FMHA kiosk located just outside the Fort Miles Historical Area Orientation Building.  The kiosk will have FMHA merchandise for sale as well as water and snacks.  Look for the new kiosk to be rolled out in July, with a formal announcement appearing on this website.

OUR FIVE 2017 FILMS AND LECTURES WERE VERY WELL RECEIVED.  With the amount of travel taking place during the summer season, FMHA has decided to resume this series in the Fall.  As a result, previously scheduled FILM/LECTURE SERIES events for July and August are postponed until later in 2017.  Check back here later this summer for the revised 2017 schedule.

In addition to the Saturday and Sunday Museum tours, there are a number of summer programs related to Fort Miles that are offered by Delaware Sate Parks.
